5月5日華府FASCA與Taiwan Fun携手華府Kid Museum在AAPI亞裔月期間舉辦「端午節犁頭店穿木屐躦鯪鯉」的節慶文化的活動，向美國主流民眾介紹臺灣獨特的「五日節」。在這次的活動中，孩子們有機會和FASCA的大哥哥大姐姐們，在遊戲中增加對臺灣文化更深度的認識。
位於馬里蘭州建地850坪的Kid Museum是一個致力於啟發孩子們創造力和創新能力的獨特場所。這裡不僅是一個展示創意和科技的空間，更是一個孩子們可以透過手工製作、科學實驗、工程設計、藝術創作等親身參與、探索和學習的地方。本次在AAPI月和Taiwan Fun 合作, 介紹臺中鯪鯉故事和製作木屐的活動。博物館還在地板上創建了一條步道，上面有像鯪鯉的腳印孩子們一邊用皮帶鎖上木屐，一邊穿上兩人三腳遊戲道具, 以最臺灣的方式,在端午節前夕迎接夏天的到來，喚醒鯪鯉讓牠們在地底下協助翻土，使農作物豐收，因此庇佑地方繁榮與發展。
Kid Museum 首席活動總監 Jackie Eyl 表示很開心看到臺灣有團隊願意共襄盛舉，也期待未來有更多合作機會，透過這樣的體驗，孩子們可以更加理解不同文化之間的聯繫和價值觀。期待大家一同體驗和分享各類臺灣傳統文化。
On May 5th, during AAPI (Asian American and Pacific Islander) Heritage Month, the Washington D.C. chapter of FASCA and Taiwan Fun teamed up with the KID Museum in Washington D.C. to host a festive cultural event: "Dragon Boat Festival — Litoudian Wearing Wooden Clogs to Wake up the Pangolin." The event introduced the unique Taiwanese tradition of the "Fifth-Day Festival" to the American public. During the activity, children had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of Taiwanese culture through games led by FASCA mentors.
The KID Museum, located in Maryland with a spacious 30,000-square-foot facility, is a unique venue dedicated to inspiring children's creativity and innovation. It is not only a space for showcasing creativity and technology but also a place where kids can explore and learn through hands-on participation in maker activities, scientific experiments, engineering design, and artistic creation. In collaboration with Taiwan Fun for AAPI Month, the museum introduced the legend of the Taichung Pangolin and hosted a clog-making workshop. The museum even created a trail on the floor featuring pangolin footprints. Children strapped on wooden clogs and participated in three-legged races—the most authentic Taiwanese way to welcome summer on the eve of the Dragon Boat Festival. The tradition aims to "wake up the pangolin" so it can help turn the soil underground, ensuring a bountiful harvest and bringing prosperity to the local community.
Jackie Eyl, Chief Program Officer at the KID Museum, expressed her delight in having a team from Taiwan participate and looked forward to more future collaboration opportunities. She noted that through these experiences, children can better understand the connections and values shared between different cultures. She looks forward to everyone experiencing and sharing various aspects of traditional Taiwanese culture together.
